As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, our mission is to promote the sport of wrestling among youth and adults in our community by providing a safe, supportive, and structured environment. We are committed to fostering physical fitness, discipline, and personal growth—while encouraging excellence, sportsmanship, and academic achievement both on and off the mat.
Girls Head Wrestling Coach, Coyote Wrestling Club
Some of my earliest memories are of the wrestling room—its distinct smell, the sounds of shoes squeaking on the mat, and the energy of athletes in motion. Growing up in the late 70s and 80s, I was immersed in the sport from day one. My father was a high school wrestling coach, and that environment helped shape who I would become.
I wrestled from youth through high school, learning not only technique but also the values of discipline, perseverance, and grit. After school, I served in the U.S. Navy as a corpsman attached to the Marines, where I continued to seek out tournaments and training partners wherever I could, always finding a way to stay connected to the sport I loved.
After my time in the military, I focused on raising a family and building a career in the corporate world. But wrestling was never far from my heart. In 2012, I returned to the mat—this time as a coach. For seven years, I led the freshman and JV boys programs, emphasizing fundamentals, trust, and character development.
Eventually, I took on the role of head coach for the girls team. What started with just one athlete quickly grew into a powerhouse program. We’ve since developed multiple state placers, a runner-up, and a two-time state champion. Today, our program boasts a growing roster of talented male and female wrestlers, including two who have committed to compete at the collegiate level.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to teach the art and discipline of wrestling to both youth and adults. Whether you’re stepping on the mat for the first time or chasing a championship, our program is designed to challenge you, support you, and help you grow—not just as an athlete, but as a person.
Girls Assistant Wrestling Coach and Coyote Wrestling Club
I’m a former high school wrestler and have been an assistant coach at Campo Verde High School for over five years. Wrestling has played a significant role in my life, and it’s been a privilege to stay involved in the sport through coaching and supporting student-athletes.
I’m also a proud father of three—two sons and a daughter—all of whom wrestled and had successful experiences, including multiple state placements and a state runner-up finish.
At Campo Verde, I’ve had the opportunity to be part of a program that has achieved some incredible milestones, including first-place finishes at major Arizona tournaments like the Doc Wright Invitational in Winslow, and a third-place overall finish at the Conflict at Cleveland in New Mexico, a tournament featuring over 70 teams. It's been rewarding to witness the hard work and dedication of our athletes pay off in such competitive environments.
Wrestling continues to be a source of discipline, growth, and community in my life, and I’m honored to contribute to a sport that builds so much more than just athletes.
